Shows I'm seeing and you should too.

Hello everyone

It’s been a hot minute since I spoke to you. Once again thanks to everyone who came to see CHRONIC BOOM on tour. There are three performances left at this years Edinburgh Fringe. 4th/7th/10th. Tickets are moving. Come along.

As I’m not doing a new show this year, I’m going to spend the month watching comedy. I have a long list of shows to see, and I’m going to share them with you here. I’ve tried to adopt a no poshos/nepo babies rule. A couple have slipped through the net, which tells you how good I think they are.

I’m not recommending WIPS or old shows. Their time will come, or it’s been already.

I havn’t seen 95% of the shows here, but have either worked with or seen the acts enough to know that this is a list of sure things.

Some highlights: I have seen Stuart Macphersons new show HORSES. If you’ve seen Stu you’ll know what to expect. Dense with jokes, funny as fuck.

I’m so excited to see Trygve Wakenshaw. I was brought to his show Squid Boy years ago, and have been to see every show since. Its mime, but wait, no, listen, its really good and so funny.

I’ve seen most of Ralphs Browns show, “MY FIRST HOSTAGE SITUATION”. Its equal parts electrifying and hilarious storytelling. The show is one of the craziest fringe stories you’ll ever hear and told so well.

And finally, last year I stood at the back of Marjolein Robertsons show and wept and laughed in equal measure. I haven’t seen the new show yet, but reports of people *fainting* during previews have me buzzing to see what she’s cooked up.

Everyone on the list is great, go check them out. I have, I know for certain, forgot some brilliant acts that are probably close personal friends. I’ll do a second email at the halfway point with a few more, and some newly discovered gems.
